Auger Motor Flowchart
French door refrigerator KRFC704FPS06: ice auger not running.
Know before you start:
- The auger motor is a high-voltage DC load. On the GF2 board (Gemini Flash 2, the rear high-voltage control board behind the small rear cabinet cover), P3-7 to P3-8 should read 130–140 VDC when both fridge doors are closed and the ice paddle is activated.
- Set the meter to DC volts. Measure across the two auger wires, never to chassis ground.
- Motor connector in the left door: pin 7 = RD, pin 1 = WH.
Ice auger not running
Step 1
Check inputs in service diagnostics:
- Test 73, right door = 01
- Test 74, left door = 01
- Test 79, ice bin = 01
- Test 93, paddle = 01
All four read 01?
YES
Go to step 2
NO
Fix that input first, then start over.
Step 2
Backprobe GF2 P3-7 to P3-8 and command dispense.
130–140 VDC?
YES
Go to step 3
NO (0 V or wrong)
Go to step 4
Step 3 · board output is good
Measure RD to WH at the motor connector in the left door.
130–140 VDC?
YES, motor doesn't run
Motor or mechanical bind.
NO (low or 0 V)
Harness, connector or left-door hinge wiring.
Power off: check continuity P3-7 to RD and P3-8 to WH. Wiggle the hinge harness.
Step 4 · board output is wrong
Unplug the motor and retest P3-7 to P3-8.
Correct now?
YES
Motor or load problem.
NO, still wrong
Isolate the harness from GF2 and retest at the board.
Correct at the board?
YES
Harness fault.
NO, inputs valid
GF2 output failure.
